UCLA adjunct professor of history Jon Christensen, the editor of Boom: A Journal of California, hopes that this special issue of the journal serves as an intelligent guide to the celebrations and observances marking this week’s 100th anniversary of the aqueduct that links Los Angeles and the Owens Valley. In the UCLA Newsroom video, he discusses the legacy of Los Angeles reaching 230 miles north for its main water supply and recent progress on healing the envionmental damage in California’s Eastern Sierra region.
