The California Center for Sustainable Communities, along with UCLA research teams and departments, has been selected as a finalist for the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA) 2024 Power Player Awards in the Equity category.

This prestigious award recognizes exceptional leadership in advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles within the energy sector. As part of the LADWP LA100 Equity Strategies team, UCLA’s contributions focused on:

  • Enhancing energy affordability
  • Empowering small ethnic-owned businesses
  • Improving air quality and public health outcomes
  • Fostering job and workforce development opportunities
  • Supporting comprehensive residential electrification through customer-owned hardware upgrades

CCSC conducts research on critical issues facing urban communities, including water, energy and ecosystems.
