UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability has once again been recognized as a certified Green Business by the LA Sanitation & Environment Department (LASAN) and the US Green Building Council (USGBC) California. This re-certification highlights the institute’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Over the past 18 months, more than 90 businesses in Los Angeles have achieved this certification, reflecting a city-wide dedication to sustainable practices. At UCLA, 66 departments, including UCLA Anderson School of Management, UCLA Health, and UCLA Facilities Management, have also earned this certification.
This recognition underscores IoES’s dedication to integrating sustainable practices into daily operations. The institute’s efforts are supported by various resources provided by USGBC California, including the “Sustainability in the Workplace Best Practices Guide” and other sustainable procurement guidelines. These resources will help IoES maintain green certification and continue to lead by example on campus.
