Professor Ryan Harrigan is an assistant adjunct professor at the UCLA Institue of the Environment and Sustainability and an Assistant Researcher for the Center for Tropical Research. In 2015, he led a Biodiversity Action Research team to monitor biodiversity in different areas of campus, including Sage Hill. His students used malaise traps to research insects and found that Sage Hill has the second-highest insect diversity on campus. Another group of his students studied bird diversity, made a survey, and wrote an article, “90 Years of Change of Bird Diversity.”
