The Late Pleistocene saw several important shifts in climate and widespread extinctions of mostly large mammal species across the globe, but what was happening locally in the Los Angeles Basin is still not fully understood. I will be using plant remains from the La Brea Tar Pits to assess the impact of climate change on community ecology and extinction in Ice Age Los Angeles.
