It is theorized that islands are the perfect location for the blue economy because of the physical proximity and expansiveness of the surrounding ocean. But more than just large areas of ocean and associated natural resources are needed when growing the blue economy. This project will entail a market evaluation and modeling of aquaculture, tourism and sustainable fisheries. It will further summarize each of these industries growth potential and capital, human and natural resources constraints. The outcome will be an analysis identifying which (if any) of these three archetypal marine industries promise long-term economic vitality and resource sustainability for a given island.
