Los Angeles has one of the worst reputations in the country when it comes to parks in metropolitan regions. But that could change on November 8, if voters approve Measure A, a parks funding measure on the ballot in Los Angeles County. Over the past year, park managers and advocates in Los Angeles have claimed that Measure A will be a game-changer. Nationally, parks advocates have told us they’re watching closely, because it is the best designed parks funding measure they’ve ever seen. But we wanted to check the facts. So we are carefully examining all of the park funding measures, needs assessments, and strategic plans approved by voters over the past decade in 29 states around the country.
