From wetlands and estuaries to sand dunes and granite peaks, the California Department of Parks and Recreation, or California State Parks, manages over 280 separate park units on 1.4 million acres across the state, making it the largest state park system in the United States. Represented on the La Kretz Advisory Board and on the annual La Kretz Center Postdoctoral Fellowship Search Committee, State Parks partners with the La Kretz Center in pursuit of joint research and outreach efforts to conserve threatened ecosystems and species across California.
