County of Los Angeles
Los Angeles County has the largest population and the most ambitious sustainability plan for any county in the nation.
With nearly 10 million residents who account for approximately 27 percent of Californians, the County is charged with providing numerous services that affect the lives of all residents, including law enforcement, tax collection, public health protection, public social services, elections and flood control. Recognizing the urgency of existing regional challenges and the climate crisis, the County and IoES work together to understand how to create a fossil-fuel free Los Angeles County within the next three decades.
