Tom Smith is a speaker at the 2022 Truffle Conference
Professor Tom Smith of the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability and the Director of the Center for Tropical Research will be a speaker on the panel “World Heritage or National Asset?” at the 2022 Truffle Conference: Is Democracy Becoming An Endangered Species? which takes place March 8-9, 2022. The panel will discuss how regional environmental treasures, like the Amazon Forest or National Parks are within the national borders of countries but also represent significant national assets. Harvesting these assets depletes the positive contribution for the planet and how to balance the challenge. Truffle is an annual discussion at the intersection between the financial markets and politics of critical issues facing the world today. Registration for this virtual event is free at Truffle Conference 2022.
