Research co-authored by Cully Nordby named “must read” by Johns Hopkins

A research paper co-authored by Cully Nordby, associate director of IoES, has been named a “Must Read” by teaching, educational oversight and research experts at Johns Hopkins University.

The paper, published in Academic Medicine and titled “Faculty development for education for sustainable health care: A university system-wide initiative to transform health professional education,” analyzed a system of educating medical professionals about sustainable healthcare — addressing health effects of climate change at personal and population levels while improving industry sustainability. The paper focused on the University of California Education for Sustainable Healthcare (UC-ESH) Faculty Development Initiative as a replicable, scalable model.

Noting that “[t]he volume of health professions education articles has become overwhelming,” the ‘Must Reads’ program curates the best new published papers in educational medicine to help people “keep abreast of cutting edge educational scholarship and practices.”
